Why am I thinking this? Well for the following reasons:
-
Microsoft launched its new, improved, search engine, Bing.
This is the search engine that is supposed to “ding” Google, as many said, even in beta, as it is right now.
iPhone 3G S will be selling at a starting price of $199. It will include the new operating system, in its 3.0 version, having the longed copy/cut & paste functions, among many others.
Apple is saying that the new iPhone will be “The fastest, , most powerful iPhone yet.”, while Engadget Mobile is reporting that “AT&T's iPhone 3G S pre-orders already sold out”.
For a list of all the new iPhone 3G S features, take a look here.
- Just after Bing’s launch, Google announced, at Google I/O, the Google Wave.
Google Wave is supposed to be a web-based, open sourced, collaboration and communication tool, which, according to Google, “can make you more productive even when you're having fun”.
In the video above, you may see a Google Wave demo from Google I/O. Enjoy!

This gorgeous Windows Phone comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, has the look of a BlackBerry smartphone, 256 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM, microSD slot, GPS, triband HSDPA with quadband EDGE, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a QVGA display.
In this shot from Engadget Mobileyou may see Windows Mobile 7 running on the device, which is quite interesting, as Microsoft hasn’t said anything about this Windows Mobile version yet.
Although HTC already launched its Snap, I’m looking forward to this device, which I really want to buy.
Once again the European Nation shows as how stupid it can be. While we just voted for the European Parliament, they were busy accusing Microsoft of abusing its position, by integrating once again Internet Explorer 8 into their Operating System. Thus, in the EU countries, Microsoft will sell a Windows E version, stripped of Internet Explorer.
Once again I don’t get it how can a bunch of people ban a product from being released in the producer’s operating system? Not that I love Internet Explorer, now that I’m representing Opera.

Known as “Peregrine”, the new browser, which quickly became my new favorite, has lots of new features and improvements. To list only a few of them:
-
Opera Turbo for fast browsing on slow connections
-
New enhanced tabs and sleek design
-
Speed Dial your way – includes the possibility of customizing your Speed Dial grid.
-
Webmail integration
-
Resizable search field
-
40% faster engine
-
Cutting-edge Web standards support. Opera 10 beta 100% passes all the Acid tests, including Acid 3.
-
Inline spell-checker
-
Auto-update
-
E-mail client with Rich Text editor
-
Automated Crash Reporting
-
Opera Dragonfly evolved
And many others, like: Speed Dial background image, tabs thumbnails and more.
Get is as soon as you can, try it, use it, enjoy it! Don’t forget to synchronize your favorites.

User name and page URL, finally to Facebook.
Facebook announced on Friday that the social networking service finally has an option to customize the User’s name and personal page URL.
Thus, implementing an option which their rival, MySpace had for 5 years now, Facebook hopes to help users improve their way of sharing their personal page’s URL, while making the page easier to be indexed by search engines.
According to Facebook, “your new Facebook URL is like your personal destination, or home, on the Web. People can enter a Facebook username as a search term on Facebook or a popular search engine like Google, for example, which will make it much easier for people to find friends with common names. Your username will have the same privacy setting as your profile name in Search […]”.
I’m waiting to see how many users will be glad to have the new option available.
For the time being, I don’t really know which of the two sucks more: the WordPress powered-website or the movie.
Once again, the Grimm Ripper is near some characters in this junky movie. With a mathematical precision, something has to go wrong, ending by killing someone in a twisted way.
I watched the previous 3 movies, trying not to laugh too much, while the characters in the movie were dying. Come on, how mind twisted can you bee to make such a script/movie?! It all begins with a guy’s premonitions at a car race and, as usual, ends up with many deaths.
At least we can see this piece of crap in 3D now, in theatres, on August 14.

Dev-Vision salutes the new launch! Just mentioned Wordpress in the above news, about Final Destination 4.
For our clients, using blogs on LAMP, we implement WordPress, customized to match the website’s theme, making it seamlessly integrated in the website’s layout.
As WordPress jumped from v2.7.1 directly to v2.8, the producers included tones of new features. For a complete list, head over the WordPress Codex.
